Project Title: Mobiles  

Description:
  • Mobiles are kinetic sculptures that spin in space.  Kindergarten and 1st grade artists chose an animal to be the focal point for their mobiles.  Paint markers were used to create our animals and a repeated pattern was selected for our rims.  Students realized the importance of making their mobiles special on all sides because they are 3-dimensional and are meant to be viewed on all sides.

Kindergarten and 1 st  Grade Project Title:   Line and Shape Exploration Description: Students practiced creating and identifying a variety of lines and shapes.  Lines and shapes are everywhere.  Lines have names that describe their place in space.  Shapes can be freeform or geometric.  Students formed Z lines and Z shapes from clay resulting in a relief piece.  Water color paints and varnish were added plus glitter for fun! March 2018 - Painting Primary/Secondary Bubbles

Kindergarten and 1 st  Grade Project Title:   Painting Primary/Secondary Bubbles Description: K-1 student artists painted bubbles.  The objective was to overlap yellow and blue, yellow and red, and red and blue bubbles for the purposes of demonstrating color mixing of secondary colors. Once dry, water color crayons were used to fill in each bubble.  The overlapped bubbles reveal our color mixed orange, purple and green! October 2017 - Printing Shapes

Kindergarten and 1 st  Grade Project Title:   Printing and Shapes Description: K-1 students identified the difference between geometric and freeform sponge shapes.  They practiced stamping these shapes into primary and secondary colored paint while developing a composition of their choice.  Next, colored pencils were used to add details and form, and geometric shapes were added for fun.
